Learning Skills

Here at Two Mile Hill Primary School, through our learning across the curriculum, we teach and embed core skills that are aimed at developing the essential skills for learning and life.  Throughout the week and across the year, core skills are embedded as part of our whole school culture. Each class focuses on achieving a core skill over a two week period. These are written in child friendly ‘I can…’ statements that progress from the Early Years to Year 6. All members of staff have their eyes peeled to catch children being brilliant and meeting their core skill. When they do this, they get a sticker. Each term, the whole school is set an ‘I can’ statement to achieve across the school in shared areas including in the lunch hall and playground. Children should be able to talk about the statement they are working on and what they need to do to get a sticker.

The focus of these core skills changes each term and is based on our MEGA bot of Learning.
