To be ready for the future, children need to be able to integrate seamlessly into a digital world. As digital natives, many of the skills they require will become part of a ‘normal’ childhood. These skills, however, will not be available to all unless we teach them.
The technologies of tomorrow are not known. However, the skills we are teaching are not dependent on ‘brands’ or ‘fads’ and should enable the children in our school to become successful in the job market of the future.
Our new Computing curriculum is designed to empower children with the skills and knowledge that they will need to succeed in the digital world.
It is separated into four areas - each of these being an essential facet of Computing competence. These areas are taught discretely or integrated into the wider curriculum. See below for more information.
