  • Poetry Around School

    You may have noticed some red signs around the school with 'QR' codes on them. Using a mobile device connected to the internet you can scan the code (using the camera on an iPhone). This will then take you to a website displaying a child's poem. There are lots to see. Have a walk around the school property and see how many you can find.
  • Burns Night at After School Club

    Last week our after school club enjoyed their own Burns Night celebrations. They made shortbread, mulled non alcoholic fruit punch and designed our own tartan.
  • Home School Agreement

    You should have received a 'Home School Agreement'. This is to make it clear what you can expect from us and what we can expect from you and your children. It can be viewed here.
  • Year 2 Assessment Information for parents / carers

    All children in year 2 are assessed and this information is collected by the Department for Education (DfE). The children's results are then published so that the DfE can make sure that children are making good progress in all schools. To help your child, we have run some parents meetings.You can find more information here about the assessments and how you can help at home.
  • Rated the 9th Best School in Bristol!

    In the Evening Post over the weekend they published their yearly 'Real School Guide'. This year we came an impressive 9th! Last year we were 22nd, so considerably improvements have been made. Well done to the whole school community - children, teachers, support staff, parents and carers - who make Two Mile Hill such a fantastic school!

    Christmas reading challenge

     

    Thank-you to everyone who has taken part in the Christmas reading challenge, we have had a huge number of entries.

     

    Christmas reading Challenge winners:

    KS2 Albatross with an outstanding 24 completed challenges!

    Runners up were Sandpipers and Ospreys.

     

    KS1 and EYFS winners Robins

    Runners up were Swans and Woodpeckers.

     

    Reading Bingo

     

    This term, we have started a new way of reading at home, 'Reading Bingo'. Each term the children will be given a bingo grid to complete over the term, if they successfully complete it, they will earn themselves a one of a kind Two Mile Hill reading badge. We appreciate all of the great help and support that you give to your children at home, please continue this by hearing them read regularly and asking them questions about what they have read. Good luck.
