At Two Mile Hill Primary we recognise the importance of play and understand how it is at the heart of a happy, healthy and enjoyable childhood. As a school we strive to continually develop and improve the provision of play and offer carefully considered outdoor spaces to offer a rich choice of accessible play experiences for every child.
In February 2023 we had our final assessment for the Outdoor Play and Learning Award. This went brilliantly and we were awarded the ‘PLATINUM’ award. This means that our playtimes are in the top 1% of the country!
The development of play is fundamental in achieving our visions and values.
Through play children will:
· Become happy, confident learners
· Show curiosity for the world around them
· Show resourcefulness and creativity
· Develop their emotional literacy and build resilience
· Work collaboratively
· Make new friends
· Show respect for others and celebrate diversity
· Make social and environmental choices with integrity and hope
· Understand responsibility they have to themselves and their local environment
· Strive for excellence
· Have fun and love coming to school every day
