There are three classes in Year Four, Herons, Sandpipers and Goldcrest.
In Year Four, we build on the skills and curriculum which has been taught in Year Three.
Topics which we study this year are:
Term one: How did the Romans affect British history?
Term two: Could you be a physicist?
Term three: Could you be an Antarctic explorer?
Term four: Vikings vs Saxons: who would you rather be ruled by?
Term five: Could you be a veterinarian?
Term six: Could you climb a mountain?
Reading is a big focus for us in Year Four, and we encourage children to read at home every day to help build on their fluency and comprehension skills. With the introduction of our revamped library, children can now take home books that they have borrowed so they should always have something interesting to be reading! We also have a big push on times tables, by the end of Year Four children should know their times tables up to 12 x 12.
